Our Story

Why we chose to do this work.

A person picking tea leaves in a tea garden

True matcha begins in China, the origin of matcha. Our work is simple: bring an overlooked source back into a modern, clean, and trustworthy form.

Ten years ago, our founders entered the high-mountain tea gardens of Zhejiang out of love and curiosity for matcha. Older makers still practiced shade cultivation, spring harvest, steaming, and slow stone milling. It felt less like a factory than a workshop. As faster, cheaper matcha became easier, we chose the opposite direction: slow down and root the work in the soil.

Rooted in soil, guided by balance

Soil: we use organic methods to care for soil and climate, allowing leaves to develop concentration and sweetness without forcing the process.

Balance: we would rather control output than compromise shade timing, harvest windows, or milling temperature. What we seek is a quiet, clear, steady feeling: energizing without agitation.

Traceable high-end Chinese matcha

From the first small batches, our goal was precise: make traceable high-end Chinese matcha. Garden coordinates, harvest batches, pesticide and heavy-metal testing, stone-mill fineness, nitrogen filling, and cold-chain handling all follow strict standards.

Balance Master continues to grow, but the craft remains. Behind a good cup of tea is respect for origin, farmers, and the health of the person drinking it.

Respect the origin, respect the farmers, respect the people who drink it. Share nature's gift and live actively through the process. - Balance Master founding team
